Although friends since 6th grade Math Olympiad (yes, that’s right we’re nerds…), our relationship didn’t take root until our freshman and sophomore years of high school. After spending hours in class and on math team trips together we couldn’t help but become close friends! Two years, a secret handshake, and countless inquiries of “Are you two dating?” later, we finally realized that our friendship had deepened into something more.
We had our first date on October 21, 2005 and surprised none of our friends with our announcement that yes, we were in fact dating. We spent the rest of high school continuing to be silly together. Getting locked in the Botanical Gardens, hiking Rob’s Eagle Scout trail, and spending countless hours driving in the car with the windows down are memories we both treasure.
We were so fortunate to be able to share our college experience at Vanderbilt University. From fraternity and sorority functions to volunteering with VSVS and everything that came between we met so many wonderful people and had blast together. Through it all, our relationship and our friendship grew stronger and brought us both so much joy.
We are so excited to officially start our life together this August and can’t wait to grow old and wrinkly side by side! We hope to continue to be silly, create memories, and have a wonderful time during all the remaining chapters of our lives.
